ABOUT THE
DIRECTOR
Jon Osaki is an emerging filmmaker who has directed and produced promotional, educational, narrative, and documentary films. His initial interest in film grew from his desire to share the stories of the Japanese Community Youth Council, where he has served as Executive Director since 1996.
Over the past few years, he has had films screened at film festivals and community events across the country. As a filmmaker, Jon views this genre as the next step in his lifelong pursuit of social justice and equity.
ABOUT THE
CONSULTING PRODUCER
Lauren Kawana has a Masters Degree in documentary film from the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism. She has numerous film credits and has worked with several award-winning filmmakers. Her most recent project Mind/Game: The Unquiet Journey of Chamique Holdsclaw, was directed by filmmaker Rick Goldsmith. Lauren also worked on the award-winning, Ahead of the Majority: The Life and Times of Patsy Mink, directed by Kimberlee Bassford of Making Waves Films.
